The National Center on Elder Abuse states as many as one out of every 10 nursing home residents will become the victims of abuse this year. The organization adds that this number is likely underreported though. According to California Center for Health Reporting, employees at nursing facilities in San Diego County made as many as 80 errors in patient care in the past several years.
