California Truck Accident Claims Driver’s Life

June 17, 2013 Trucking accidents are a major hazard across the country. One such California Truck Accident that occurred last week claimed the life of a 49-year-old San Jose man. Reports indicate that the crash happened last Thursday afternoon, at approximately 1:20 p.m. at the Stevens Creek Quarry in Cupertino, California. According to KRON 4 News, the victim was behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer that was traveling down a hill. Greg Siggins, a spokesman for Cal/OSHA, stated he believes that when the breaks on the vehicle failed, the driver lost control and crashed the truck. Siggins added that no safety violations or hazards were discovered at the quarry. The accident highlights the risks that faulty equipment on a truck poses to not only the driver of the truck, but also to others around the vehicle.
