October 7, 2013 The California Truck Accident Lawyers with Berg Injury Lawyers explain that the size of commercial trucks can make pulling into and out of parking spaces an extremely precarious job and can often lead to accidents. Such an incident recently claimed a man’s life in a neighborhood located in San Francisco, California. According to an article from The San Francisco Appeal, the collision occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. last Friday afternoon near the corner of Pacific Avenue and Polk Street in the city’s Nob Hill neighborhood. Reports indicate the victim was moving objects in the rear of a vehicle when the driver of a truck behind him suddenly lurched his vehicle forward. The acceleration caused the victim to become pinned between the two vehicles, causing him serious injury. A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department, Officer Albie Esparza, explained the victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, but he died as a result of his injuries shortly after arrival. The incident leaves many drivers wondering what they can do to help prevent such accidents from occurring in the future. The law firm’s team of California Personal Injury Lawyers state no one should ever stand between two vehicles when one is attempting to move. Furthermore, motorists should remember to always use their mirrors, while looking and listening, to prevent accidents while parking.
