All too often, Alameda-based injury lawyer William Berg witnesses firsthand the pain and heartache suffered by those who have lost a loved one in an alcohol-related crash. To assist in the fight against drunk driving, Berg Injury Lawyers designed and implemented the law firm's Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program.
St. Patrick’s Day 2013
We’ll be covering the cost for adults to get home safely on St. Patrick’s Day in Sacramento and San Francisco. The program will be available from 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, through 4 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2013.
New Year’s Eve 2012
We rang in another New Year and covered the cost for adults to get home safely in downtown Sacramento and San Francisco. The program was available from 10 p.m. on Monday, December 31, through 3 a.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
Halloween 2012
We celebrated another Halloween and covered the cost for adults to get home safely in downtown Sacramento and San Francisco. The program was available from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, through 3 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
Cinco de Mayo 2012
We celebrated another Cinco de Mayo and were happy to cover the cost for those who needed a safe ride home. We appreciate the continued support from the local cab companies who help make this important and life-saving program happen.
St. Patrick's Day 2012
Thanks to everyone who participated in our St. Patrick's Day event. We're pleased to report that we provided 454 rides home.
New Year's Eve 2011
Our New Year's Eve Safe and Sober program was another huge success! With the help of our participating cab companies, we provided hundreds of safe rides home for adults in San Francisco, Alameda, Oakland, Berkeley, and Sacramento.
Halloween 2011
The Halloween Safe and Sober program provided 270 rides to area residents in Northern California.
Cinco de Mayo 2011
We had another successful Safe and Sober program and are pleased to report that we paid for 391 safe rides home on Cinco de Mayo.

Program Background
Launched on St. Patrick's Day 2004, Berg Injury Lawyers Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program seeks to raise community awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and to encourage individuals to make responsible choices by providing a safe transportation alternative on many of the traditionally high alcohol consumption holidays. Cab rides are made available to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking.
