Halloween 2008
The Halloween Safe and Sober program resulted in 303 safe rides home, the highest number of cab rides during one evening the program has seen in its five years of operation. In addition to providing rides home to individuals in Alameda, Oakland, and Berkeley, the program expanded to include San Francisco.
New Year’s Eve 2008
The New Year’s Eve Safe and Sober Free Ride Home Program provided 711 free cab rides for those who didn’t have safe ways home. The program began on December 31 at 10 pm and ran until 4 am on January 1. The firm would like to thank Veterans Cab in Alameda and Luxor Cab in San Francisco for their support of the program.
St. Patrick’s Day 2009
The St. Patrick’s Day Safe and Sober Free Ride Home Program provided 480 free cab rides for those who didn’t have safe ways home. The program—which has provided a total of 2,554 rides in five years—ran on March 17 from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Cinco de Mayo 2009
Berg Injury Lawyers paid for more than 200 safe rides home for the Cinco de Mayo program. To date, the program has provided more than 2,700 safe rides to local patrons. The next Safe and Sober program will be held on Halloween on Saturday, October 31, 2009.

Program Background
Launched in the city of Alameda on St. Patrick's Day 2004 and expanded to include Oakland over Memorial Day weekend and subsequent holidays, Berg Injury Lawyers Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program seeks to raise community awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and to encourage individuals to make responsible choices by providing a safe transportation alternative on many of the traditionally high alcohol consumption holidays. Cab rides are made available within the cities of Alameda and Oakland to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking. Rides are provided to an individual's residence, not other drinking locations. On New Year's weekend 2004/05 in addition to Alameda and Oakland, the program was offered for the first time in Berkeley.
