Millions of bees escape in California truck accident

The Associated Press reported that a tractor-trailer flipped over on Highway 99 in Sacramento, California.

The truck traveling to Washington was carrying a complete load of bee crates filled with the swarming insects that were to be used for pollination purposes in the San Joaquin Valley when the California truck accident happened. While entering the highway, the truck turned over releasing 8-to-12 million bees.

The truck driver, along with Sacramento police officers and firefighters, were stung several times while trying to clear the scene of the California truck accident.
