California medical malpractice suit may yield $250,000 for victim

The Los Angeles Daily News reported that county supervisors will decide Tuesday on a $250,000 settlement involving California medical malpractice. A doctor made a diagnostic error at Martin Luther King Jr.-Drew Medical Center that resulted in a woman’s uterus being removed.

The 40-year-old medical malpractice victim had gynecological complaints when she saw the doctor who took tissue samples from her uterus with a minor surgical procedure. Her tissue sample was mixed up with another patient’s, which yielded a diagnosis of uterine cancer for the wrong patient.
