Halloween and California Drunk Driving Accidents

This Friday is Halloween, which means many in Northern California will be celebrating with the ghouls and goblins. What’s even scarier than this year’s costumes though, is the number of California drunk driving accidents that are reported on Halloween each year. In fact, reports indicate the holiday is notoriously one of the deadliest days of the year for motorists, and alcohol plays a significant role in many of those accidents.

What We’re Doing to Help

In an effort to reduce the number of drunk driving accidents that occur in the Bay Area this Halloween, the attorneys with Berg Injury Lawyers are once again sponsoring their “Safe and Sober” program. The campaign provides free cab rides home on Halloween night to those living in San Francisco and the surrounding area that have had too much to drink. There is also a version of the program for the Sacramento area.

How to Get a Free Cab Ride

Participating in the program is easy! Free rides home are available from 10 p.m. Friday, October 31 to 4 a.m. Saturday, November 1. If you live in San Francisco, just call Luxor Cabs at (415) 282-4141. If you live in Sacramento, call Yellow Cab Company of Sacramento at (916) 444-2222. Tell them Berg Injury Lawyers is covering your ride. The program covers cab rides up to $35! But don’t forget to tip your driver. Cabs will only take individuals to a residence, not another bar, restaurant, or other locations where alcohol is being served. Cab drivers reserve the right to request that you remove masks before getting in the vehicle as well. Let’s all look out for each other’s safety! We hope “Safe and Sober” helps you to have a fun and safe Halloween! If you have any questions about our program, please call us at (510) 523-3200, send us a message on Facebook, or send us an email.
