The Modesto Bee reports that a crash involving a sports utility vehicle and a police car was the police officers fault.

The officer was driving east on Scenic Drive with his lights and sirens on when he lost control of his patrol car. The vehicle slid into oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV, causing the Modesto auto accident.

According to a representative from the police department, the officer was traveling too fast when the accident occurred. Both drivers involved in the Modesto car accident were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
