The Modesto Bee reports that an act of vandalism was what led to a Modesto auto accident.

A 14-year-old girl was spray painting gang signs on a fence when she was confronted by two woman. The girl tried to attack the women with a baseball bat. She then got into a Kia Spectra driven by a 16-year-old, and drove away. The women then pursued the group of teens in their vehicle.

A police officer saw the Spectra run a stop sign, and pulled the car over. When the officer was out of his vehicle the Spectra sped away. The police officer began pursuing the vehicle, but stopped following the car when he noticed it was driving erratically.

A few minutes later the driver of the Spectra lost control of the vehicle causing a California auto accident. The car flipped over and landed on top of a Denali.

Five people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries following the Modesto car accident.
