The family of a trucker who was killed on the Bay Bridge has filed a San Francisco wrongful death lawsuit against the state and the engineers who designed the bridge, reports the Mercury News.
The San Francisco truck accident happened on the S curve, which is part of a detour on the bridge, while a new eastern section is being constructed. The truck went over the 3 foot side wall and plunged 200 feet to the ground.
The family alleges negligence in the design of that section of the bridge, as well as lack of warning signs. Forty-three accidents had occurred from the time of the opening of the S curve until this San Francisco truck accident.
Do you think the engineers showed negligence in the design of this area? Do you think they should be held responsible in this San Francisco wrongful death lawsuit if they knew it was unsafe?
