In another example of the inherent dangers facing drivers on San Francisco roadways, the San Francisco Chronicle reported one teenager was killed and another critically injured after shots rang out at a busy Bayview district intersection and the California car accident victims’ vehicle collided head-on with another car.
The victims were shot while inside a blue sedan at the corner of Third Street and LaSalle Avenue around 3 p.m. One or more suspects in a white sedan sped away. The intersection was closed for nearly an hour, with vehicle and streetcar traffic on the new T-Third line backing up in both directions.
Neither the dead man, a 19-year-old San Francisco resident, nor the injured man, a 15-year-old Richmond resident being treated at San Francisco General Hospital, was identified. The motive for the shooting was not known.
