Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has just signed legislation to help prevent California auto accidents and car-related deaths. California auto accidents are the leading cause of death among 16-20 year-olds, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The legislation prohibits California drivers under age 18 to use their cell phones, text messaging devices, and laptop computers while driving. The rules go into effect next July and will also require adult drivers in California to use hands-free devices to talk on their cell phones while driving.
